formed to play for fun in the Northern Virginia area. All musicians
are welcome - music will be provided. Get-togethers are generally held
from 2:30 - 5:30 on the 2nd Saturday of the month.

This is a
spelmanslag that meets in the South Bay and plays for dances held in
Palo Alto, CA. New members are welcome. Dances are generally held
from 8:00 - 11:00 PM on the 1st Saturday of the month during the school
year. There are rehearsals on most Friday evenings.

Nattergal members play and sing
traditional Scandinavian folk music with unique harmonies and
arrangements. Performances include dance tunes, wedding music, mischievous
songs, ballads, soulful listening tunes, and hymns. Instrumentation
includes: fiddle, hardingfele, accordion, cittra, guitar, recorder, and
munnharpe, with vocals in Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish, and Icelandic.

of these tunes are playable on nyckelharpa, and a few are best played on that
instrument. I have indicated some of these with the abbreviation "NHP",
but this is only a sampling of good tunes for 'harpa.

members are welcome. Dances are generally held from 8:00 - 11:00 PM on the
3rd Saturday of the month during the school year. There are rehearsals
from 7:00 - 8:00 before the dance.
